The "P" values in LED screens, such as P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5, refer to the pixel pitch. Pixel pitch is the distance between the centers of adjacent pixels and is measured in millimeters. A smaller P value indicates a closer spacing between pixels and, consequently, a higher pixel density. For example, a P1 LED screen has a pixel pitch of 1 millimeter, which means that the pixels are very closely packed. This results in extremely high-resolution displays that can show incredibly detailed images and videos. Such screens are often used in applications where viewers need to be very close to the display and where the highest level of detail is required, like in some high-end indoor video walls in control rooms or in very small display areas where precision is crucial.
On the other hand, a P5 LED screen has a pixel pitch of 5 millimeters. The larger pixel pitch means a lower pixel density compared to P1. P5 screens are more suitable for applications where the viewing distance is relatively far, such as in large outdoor advertising billboards. At a greater distance, the human eye cannot perceive the individual pixels as clearly, and a P5 screen can still provide a clear and impactful visual display. P2, P3, and P4 fall in between these two extremes. P2 offers a good balance between high resolution and a reasonable viewing distance, making it popular for indoor digital signage in malls or corporate lobbies. P3 is often used in medium-sized indoor venues like conference rooms or medium-sized retail displays. P4 can be a cost-effective option for larger indoor spaces where a slightly lower resolution is acceptable but still provides a good visual experience.
